Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025

Rungi Trails Tours & Travel (“Rungi Trails”, “we”, “us”) operates rungitrails.com and related online services. It is our policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website and responding to your enquiries.

Website visitors

Like most website operators, we collect non-personally-identifying information that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each request. We use this information to understand how visitors use our site and to improve our content and experience. From time to time we may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate (for example, by publishing trends in website usage), without identifying individual visitors.

We may also collect potentially personally-identifying information such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged-in users or for users leaving comments or messages where those features exist. We treat such information in line with the sections below.

Gathering of personally-identifying information

Certain visitors choose to interact with us in ways that require us to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, if you submit our safari or tour enquiry form, we ask for details such as your name, email address, phone number (optional), travel preferences, and message content so we can respond to your request.

We collect such information only as needed to fulfil the purpose of your interaction with Rungi Trails. We do not disclose this information other than as described in this policy. You may refuse to supply personally-identifying information; however, that may prevent us from fulfilling certain requests (for example, replying to an enquiry without a valid email address).

Our enquiry form may use Cloudflare Turnstile (or similar security services) to reduce spam and abuse. Those services may process technical data such as IP address and browser signals in accordance with their own privacy terms. We use them only to protect our forms and infrastructure.

If you sign up for Rungi Trails Wild Updates via our website footer, we use your email address to send you a confirmation message and occasional updates, and to notify our team that you have subscribed. You can unsubscribe by replying to any newsletter email.

Aggregated statistics

We may collect statistics about the behaviour of visitors to our website. We may display this information publicly or share it with others, but we will not disclose personally-identifying information except as described in this policy.

Protection of certain personally-identifying information

We disclose potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those employees, contractors and affiliated organisations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on our behalf or to provide services available through our website, and (ii) have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those parties may be located outside your home country; by using our website, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.

We will not sell or rent your personally-identifying information. Other than to employees, contractors and affiliated organisations as described above, we disclose such information only when required to do so by law, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our property or rights, those of third parties, or the public.

If you are a registered user of our services and have supplied an email address, we may occasionally email you about new features, solicit your feedback, or keep you up to date with Rungi Trails. If you contact us with a request, we reserve the right to publish it in a form that does not identify you personally, in order to clarify or respond to your request or to help other users.

We take reasonable measures to protect against unauthorised access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a site stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser sends back on each visit. We may use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, understand how our site is used, or support security features. Visitors who wish to refuse cookies can do so in their browser settings; some features of the site may not function fully without cookies.

Business transfers

If Rungi Trails or substantially all of its assets were acquired, or in the unlikely event that we enter bankruptcy, user information may be transferred as a business asset. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur and that any acquirer may continue to use your personal information as set out in this policy.

Privacy policy changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time at our discretion. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the site after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
