Uganda Safaris
This three-day tour starts and ends in Kampala with gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, in south-western Uganda—about 8 hours' drive from the capital. The tour can also start and end in Kigali, Rwanda, which is closer to Bwindi. Day 1 is for travel, day 2 is gorilla tracking, and day 3 is return. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild. Tracking may be fairly strenuous (treks up to six hours or longer at high altitude are not uncommon). Viewing success rates are over 90%.
Your tour guide/driver will pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe at 7:00am and set off on the drive to the south-west and Bwindi National Park. En-route stop at the Equator for experimentation and photography, and a lunch break in Mbarara. Reach Bwindi National Park in the early evening. Dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp.

After breakfast at the lodge, travel to the National Park headquarters to meet your guides and begin your gorilla tracking experience. Experienced guides and trackers accompany you on an early morning trek into the dense rainforest on the mountain slopes. The journey through dense foliage and steep climbs is rewarded with the lifetime experience of viewing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will have the opportunity to be within metres of these magnificent apes. Return to the lodge and, if time allows, take a guided afternoon forest or community walk.

After breakfast, start the journey back to Kampala. Cross the Equator and take photos, buy souvenirs and have a quick picnic lunch. Drive to Entebbe airport to catch your flight home.
