4 Days Road Trip Safari to Kidepo Valley National Park

3 nights · Kampala → Kidepo Valley NP → Kampala

Kidepo Valley National Park lies in the rugged, semi-arid valleys on Uganda's northern border with South Sudan and Kenya, about 700 km from Kampala. Gazetted as a national park in 1962, it has a profusion of big game and hosts over 77 mammal species and around 475 bird species. Kidepo is Uganda's most isolated national park; the few who make the journey north through Karamoja agree it is also one of Africa's finest wildernesses. From Apoka, savannah extends to distant mountain ranges. During the dry season, permanent water is found in wetlands and pools in the broad Narus Valley near Apoka—the park's prime game viewing location.
